YOUTH Music Video

As I’m sure you know by now, I have a place in my heart for the talents of Troye Sivan and as he just released his new music video I obviously had to write about it! I was already in love with this song, especially after seeing multiple videos of him performing it live; his enthusiasm for ‘Youth’ is impossible to ignore. It’s only been out for a day and already it has almost 1.5 million views!

#BLUENEIGHBOURHOOD

Now, it’s evident from my last post (over two months ago… oops?) that I’m a bit of a Troye Sivan fan so you’ll understand why today has been a fairly important day. ‘Blue Neighbourhood’, Troye’s debut album, was released worldwide today and I’m already bopping along as I write this because it perfectly encompasses exactly what Troye is. He has obviously poured his heart and soul into this album and after hyping it up so much I can definitely say that I’m not disappointed one bit. As well as featuring all of the songs from his EP ‘Wild’ earlier this year, the Deluxe version has 9 new tracks (+ a remix of the EP’s title track ‘Wild’ which, let’s be honest, is kind of hard to not like), my favourite of which – excluding the ones from the EP which were all good shit – are *cough* all of them *cough*: ‘HEAVEN’, ‘BLUE’, ‘SUBURBIA’ and ‘for him.’

FOOLS – Troye Sivan

Only a few hours ago, Troye Sivan, the Australian YouTuber and musician, released the official video for his song ‘FOOLS’ off of his new EP ‘WILD’ and already it has nearly 350,000 views. This comes as no surprise to me. If you haven’t watched it yet I suggest you do and I suggest you also go back and watch the video for ‘WILD’ which was released earlier this month and has almost 4.5million views. They’re both honestly so moving. Continue reading

Les Misérables

Today I went to see Les Misérables in the Queen’s Theatre, London, and let me tell you, I cried four times. I’m pretty sure everyone can agree that Les Mis is a tragic tale and I felt that showed through whilst watching it. As mentioned in my previous post, I find the era of the French Revolution to be fascinating – I’m not quite sure why but I’m pretty sure this contributed to how much I loved it. Honestly, the whole day was an amazing experience… even if I did feel ridiculously overdressed. This will contain spoilers. Continue reading

A Tale of My First Review

Among other things, this blog is going to have book reviews and I’ve decided my first review is going to be on: ‘A Tale of Two Cities’ by Charles Dickens. I recently finished reading it and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it! I don’t read classics that often, although the next book I’m planning to read after my current read – ‘All I Know Now’ by Carrie Hope Fletcher – is ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray’ by Oscar Wilde, so I’m trying to get more into them. (Just as a little warning, I cannot guarantee that there won’t be any spoilers, however I’ll try to keep them to a minimum.)

In case you actually have managed to avoid spoilers about the book, here is the blurb as a little summary for you:

After eighteen years as a political prisoner in the Bastille, the ageing Doctor Manette is finally released and reunited with his daughter in England. There the lives of two very different men, Charles Darnay, an exiled French aristocrat, and Sydney Carton, a disreputable but brilliant English lawyer, become enmeshed through their love for Lucie Manette. From the tranquil roads of London, they are drawn against their will to the vengeful, bloodstained streets of Paris at the height of the Reign of Terror, and they soon fall under the lethal shadow of La Guillotine.

Now, onto the actual review!

On ‘Take Me to Church’, Sergei Polunin and Ballet.

If you’re anything like me, you probably love Hozier’s music; if you’re anything else like me, you’ll also love ballet. In that case, there is a high probability that you have seen this videoEarlier in 2015 this video circulated the internet and as of 16/05/2015 has 9,924,220 views – half of which I may or may not be responsible for. In case it isn’t already blatantly obvious: I love this video. I know that everyone who is interested in this type of dancing has probably already read fifteen pieces about this video and I’m extremely late to jump on this bandwagon but in all fairness, I was planning to write this about a month ago… It just took me until now to get around to it.
